Alternative Solutions
A new pathway to building approval contained in the Building Code of Australia.
Fire Safety Engineering
Fire Engineering Services - Applied Science (Engineering). The application of engineering principles, rules and expert judgement based on a scientific appreciation of the fire phenomena, of the effects of fire, to deliver safer buildings at lower construction costs. Examples include: increased travel distances, and engineered smoke hazard management systems.
Design
Hydraulic service design - fire hydrants and fire hose reels and fire sprinklers and special hazards (e.g gas suppression systems).
Fire detection & alarm systems.
Fire extinguishers - selection and location.
Fire Doors and Fire Shutters
Certification
Form 15 design certificates and form 16 construction certifications are provided as part of our quality commitment to the fire safety and fire protection engineering process. This assures that the installed systems comply with quality standards in engineering & construction.
Compliance Inspections
We offer a quality process via due diligence inspections and reporting of existing buildings. Our inspectors are licenced by the Building Services Authority to undertake this form of specialised work.
Unwanted Alarms
We are able to provide an inspection and evaluation service.
Fire Safety Audits
Fire Check Consultants can undertake fire safety audits of a building or site. The fire safety audit assesses the building for compliance with the Building Code of Australia, relevant Australian Standards and the Building Fire Safety Regulation 2008. In addition to a complete building audit, they can be tailored to suit a specific fire protection system or code compliance issue.
The audit findings are published in a report which will also provide recommendations on how to remedy any non-compliances that were identified.
Fire Check Consultants can also supervise witness testing of fire protection equipment needed to prove compliance. Note - Licensed fire protection contractors may be required to operate the systems.
Fire safety audits and reports are of particular use to demonstrate compliance with the relevant codes to Queensland Fire and Rescue Service Safety Assessment Officers or insurance companies.
Asset Register
Fire Check Consultants can produce an asset register and bar coding schedule for a building's fire protection equipment. This can be performed at the same time as the fire safety audit is undertaken. In addition to providing an asset register of the fire protection equipment, it enables more efficient monitoring and service of the equipment by building owners and maintenance contractors.
Unfortunately we are not licenced to deliver the following services:
Fire safety management plans.
Fire wall inspection/certification (unless part of an engineered solution prepared by us).
Anything to do with a domestic dwelling (Class 1 building).
